SP Central Committee Member resigns; cites mistrust, back-biting

Socialist Party member of the Central Committee, National Youth Secretary, Stanley Muba’sa has resigned from the party with immediate effect.

He cited recent activities in the party including mistrust and accusations made him as the reason for his resignation saying he feels betrayed.

Muba’sa said there are people in the party who always want to feed, leaders with falsehoods, lies and gossip to prove their relevance, instead of focusing on mobilizing the masses.

“I have decided to move on from the party. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Fred M’membe, the President of the Socialist Party, for the unwavering support and guidance he has provided me during my time in the party,” he said.

He writes:

It is with a painful heart that I officially notify you of my resignation as National Youth Secretary, Member of the Central Committee, and Member of the Socialist Party, with immediate effect.

This is a difficult decision, especially that I had a special relationship with you.

The recent activities in the party of mistrust and accusations made me feel betrayed, specifically by those who always want to feed, our respected leaders with falsehoods,lies and gossip to prove their relevance, instead of focusing on mobilizing the masses.

I have decided to move on from the party. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Fred M’membe, the President of the Socialist Party, for the unwavering support and guidance he has provided me during my time in the party.

Dr. M’membe has been more than a mentor to me; he has been a father figure who has built me and laid the foundation for my firm political stance.

His unwavering commitment to socialist principles and his tireless efforts to empower young leaders have been a constant source of inspiration to me.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked under his leadership and for the invaluable lessons I have learned from him. He has trained me and taught me the art of leadership, and I will forever be grateful.

Finally, I want to thank my fellow comrades for their support and camaraderie during my time in the party. I wish the party continued success in its endeavors.
