Serenje cop arrested for allegedly defaming President Lungu

A police officer in Serenje has been arrested for defaming President Edgar Lungu.

Central province commissioner of Police, Joel Njase named the officer as detective Sergeant Mutakela Manyando of Serenje Police Station.

Njase revealed that the officer was apprehended on Sunday around 12: 30 hours at the Council Guest House in Serenje where he allegedly publicly disputed that there is no head of state in the country.

  2. Defamation holds for a “victim” with a reputation. Lungu does not have a reputation to defend or maintain. A very good lawyer could lead the judge to toss out this hogwash from a politicized and activist pro-lungu bench.
