Ambassador of Zambia to France Her Excellency Dr. Christine Kaseba Sata has urged French tourism operators to market Zambia as the best tourist destination to the French Market.
Speaking during a training breakfast of selected tourism operators in Paris, Dr. Kaseba called on the tour operators to vigorously help in selling Zambia’s tourist destinations to the prospective market.
The training which brought together 21 tourism operators across France was aimed at marketing destination Zambia to the French market.
Dr. Kaseba said Zambia is a fascinating and captivating country ready to be explored by the French market.
She cited the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls as the main selling point,the finest safaris ever on the African continent coupled with other waterfalls dotted across the country as the main tourist attractions.
Dr. Kaseba further called for strengthening of the partnership between the Embassy and the tour operators to heighten marketing Zambia’s destination in order to contribute to increased tourist arrivals in the country.
The Ambassador appealed to the operators to share their valuable feedback and best practices to enable Zambia learn and develop its tourism industry just like France.
She informed the tourism operators that Zambia is a fast-growing tourist destination that is now projecting to have 2 million tourist arrivals by 2024 beyond the 1.5 million pre-pandemic figures.
Dr. Kaseba observed that Zambia’s tourist arrivals had seen a sharp increase of 82% in the pre-pandemic era and hoped the sector would now record much more arrivals with the strengthened partnership with tourism operators.
At the same event, Tourism Attache Twaambo Himoonde Muzyamba gave a presentation promoting what destination Zambia has on offer for the French market, which include various wildlife safaris, the Kasanka bat migration, adrenaline rush activities such as bungee jumping, microlighting and white-water rafting, as well as diverse cultural heritage experiences, sumptuous cuisine and the warm Zambian hospitality among others.
The training breakfast was organised by the Mission in conjuction with its partners which include Airlink, Rwandair, Anantara Hotels and the Royal Livingstone.
France is one of the top International markets that Zambia is targetting for increased tourist arrivals.
