SDA refuses their Church Elder Cattle contribution who is a PF Member

The Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) has turned down the contribution to their event of cattle made by its Church Elder who is a member of the PF.

Zambian Eye has been informed that the contribution was classified as political and would be seen as competition with President Hakainde Hichilema who had made a smilar pledge, sources close to the happenings have revealed.

The PF member is Greyford Monde who is a long time serving member of the Church who rose through the ranks from a Youth Leader to now an Elder in the Church.

But SDA Southern region conference president Pastor, Dr. Munyumbwe refused to accept the donation, saying President Hichilema who was expected the same day had pledged to make a similar donation of 10 cattle. He is reported to have said that accepting Monde’s donation would be seen as “competition” with the President.

The Southern conference Dorcas rally started on Sunday and will run upto Saturday at Rusangu mission in Southern Province.

And SDA member has called out the Church to remove politics from the administration of the church.

He has said:

To the esteemed Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) elders, I respectfully request that you avoid politicizing the pulpit. If you aspire to pursue a career in politics, consider relinquishing your ecclesiastical role to join the fray, thereby preserving the dignity of our church.

It was hypocritical for Dr. Munyumbwe to have declined the donation of cows for our Dorcas Mothers from Hon. Gresford Monde while accepting another offer from a politician.

Notably, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema and Elder Greyford Monde Monde, despite being politicians from different parties with differing ideologies, are both members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
