Sata’s absence creates demand for elections – ADD

Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) in the Southern Province says the continued absence of the Head Of State from the public will continue to spark more speculations and will soon see public outcry to demand that the Head Of State to resign and call for early elections if he has a problem of him being seen in the open as it is hurting Zambia and affecting important opportunities.

ADD South Party Co-Ordinator Francis Siakonde told SKY FM News in Choma that Zambians could not continue with the continued absentee of the Head Of State because leading a sovereign Country required the Head of State to engage directly with his people.

Siakonde disclosed that Zambian citizenry were slowly being convinced clearly that the Head Of State was not in good sound health which was stopping him from being seen in public.

He disclosed that the last time the Head Of State was lastly seen in public was on 25^th May and his continued absentee from national functions calls for the President to step down and call for early elections because his stay at the helm of Zambia’s national leadership had become unattainable anymore.

He disclosed that it wa so sad that the man of action who everybody in Zambia loves would develop a tendency of hiding from his people who ushered him into Office

Siakonde states that it was time for Michael Sata to step down and call for fresh elections so that a more appropriate person can take over and leader this country properly.

He charged that Zambia could not afford to lag behind in development and other bilateral and multilateral arrangements because of the Head Of State who was failing to officiate and attend to national functions.

Siakonde however wondered that from the time that the PF Government came to power in 2011, Presidents from African and other countries seem to have shunned their visits to Zambia adding that It is only Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe who has been to Zambia and the friendship between the two has been described by many observers as an unholy alliance of dictators.

He charged that the Head Of State was failing in discharging his duties and the only way to get the country back on track was to ask the President to resign and call for early elections almost two years ahead of the 2016 polls.

Siakonde disclosed that this Country was not going anywhere if the new PF trend of hiding the Head Of State continues and asked the people of Zambia to speak up in numbers and ask Head Of State to leave and pave way for another person who has the ability to govern this country.

He said enough had been said at the Head Of State’s hide and seek games and seem not listening to the people and charged that time had come for the President to consider through his actions and put the interest of the nation first.

The ADD South Co-Ordinator was commenting in the Head Of State continued absence from important national events such as the recent failure to officiate at the 2014 Agricultural and Commercial Show Society of Zambia opening ceremony and where he was supposed to travel to the United State of America for a series of events between other African leaders with the American President Barack Obama.

Vice President Guy Scott was therefore delegated to represent the Head Of State in the United States.
