Sata refuse to commission Ngwerere- Kasisi road

President Michael Sata on Saturday morning declined to officiate at a road project due to ” lack of progress”.

The President who had gone to officiate at the ground breaking ceremony for the Ngwerere- Kasisi road project walked away after discovering that not much works were done on site.

Sata who inspected part of the road project was dismayed that that works on the project where not going as expected.

The President who had gone to the event using a chopper has since asked Transport Communication. works and Supply Minister Yamfwa Mukanga to ensure that he is ready whenever he wants to ask him to commission works.

But Mukanga has also blamed poor organisation in organising the event. He has also assured the residents of Kasisi that the road will soon be commissioned and the contractor will work on the road.

The 60 kilometres road project will be constructed at a cost of over K160 million.
