Lusaka remains busy despite the coronavirus pandemic.

It is business as usual in Lusaka despite the fact that the country continues to record new coronavirus cases almost on a daily basis, with the capital being one of the epicenter for the virus.

A survey by this news crew in the capital, revealed worrying scenarios with people busy with their every day routines, much against the calls for social distancing.

People could be seen mixing and mingling, with the markets busy as usual.

This behaviour was once lambasted by President Edgar Lungu, who during one of his address to the nation said pepole were running their lives in a way that is not expected during an outbreak of diseases such as coronavirus.

“I have gone around the city and I have seen for myself that many among us are not taking this COVID-19 seriously. I have seen multitudes patronising bars or freely hugging and shaking hands at funerals, contrary to health advice,” he said.

The President urged the citizens to change their lifestyles and observe the advice from health officials.

Meanwhile, despite the residents’ behaviour, Lusaka remains one of the hot-spots for coronavirus registering double digits on cases.
