Professionals in Zambia are enjoying the full benefits of flexible working after Regus opened a drop-in business lounge at its Lusaka centre to celebrate its second anniversary.

The increased desire for flexible office space, which can be upsized or downscaled overnight, has also led the global workplace providerto expand its centre by more than 50 per cent. It now offers 30 offices in addition to meeting rooms, virtual office services and improved internet connectivity, and most recently, a flexible drop in space – the business lounge.

Joanne Bushell, Vice President for Africa at Regus, said: “Our business has grown quickly in Zambia, which is testament to the appetite for flexible working here. The fact companies can move in the next day and then upscale overnight as their business grows, makes our centre both affordable and convenient for local and international clients alike.”

All Businessworld Gold card members and those leasing a serviced office can use this or any other Regus business lounge in Africa or around the world without charge.

The nature of work is changing and the creation of a drop-in space through the business lounge was in direct response to the diverse needs of today’s workforce. We are also seeing members from South Africa using this facility when in Lusaka, allowing them to have an office away from their office,” added Bushell.

One company driving the demand is World Wide Scholarships Zambia Ltd. Its director, Munya Maraire, said of the business lounge:The Regus team has made our experience of Businessworld better than we expected as their service levels are second to none. We feel privileged to be the first Businessworld clients in Zambia and our business is benefiting from this innovation.”

Regus has business centres in 1,800 across 100 countries.
