Police in Kawambwa district are looking for a six year old child who allegedly went missing after her teacher sent her out of class because she started crying during lessons.

The pre-school pupil identified as Precious Kaunda of PWD compound went missing last week tuesday after the teacher Esther Nanyangwe chased her out of class.

Luapula province commanding officer Gloria Mulele said the police have continued looking for the child saying they suspect foul play in the matter.

Mulele said the child went missing on January 17,2023 between 11:00 and 16:00 hours.

She said the child went to school and while she was in class she started crying and the teacher decided to take her outside but did not return.

“Nanyangwe, a pre-school teacher was teaching the pupils and Precious started crying and disturbing other pupils.

“The teacher took her out of class and she did not come back until the pupils knocked off at 16:00 hours.

“The parents went to the teacher around 23:00 hours and it was at that point that she learnt of the missing pupil,”said Mulele.

She said the father of the pupil Jackson Kaunda reported the matter to the police on January 22,2023 after making several attempts.
