President Sata sneaks out of Zambia

Zambian leader Michael Sata has sneaked out of the country amid growing concerns about his failing health, reports Zambian Eye Political Correspondent.

A top government official told Zambian Eye that the Zambian leader left the country Friday night. The desintation was not clear but another source said President Sata has been expected for medical check up in London.

President Sata who left aboard Presidential Challenger is accompanied by his Wife, Dr. Christine Kaseba and his Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations George Chellah.

There was no official statement from government apart from the one issued earlier that he will be attending the African Union Summit next week on Wednesday in Equatorial Guinea.

It is also not clear whom he left the instruments of power with, there are reports that Patriotic Front General Secretary and Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba is the Acting President while other sources say that it is his Uncle Alexander Chikwanda who is also Finance Minister.
