President Sata buried

President Michael Sata has been buried at the Presidential Burial Site, Embassy Park in the Zambian capital.

The Zambian leader’s casket was lowered down to the grave at 4pm after a long funeral procession that begun in the morning of November 11, 2014 with a Requiem Mass conducted by the Catholic Church.

First Lady Dr. Christine Kaseba Sata broke down as she led the children to put the soil on the grave.

Heads of States that attended the event include President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe who is also SADC Chairman, President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, and President Hifikepunye Pohamba of Kenya. President Armando Guebuza of Mozambique also attending the burial while other countries sent their representatives.

The burial marks the end of 15 days of national mourning that started when President Sata died on October 28, 2014 in London.
