President Lungu mourns Sesheke UPND MP

The remains of Sesheke MP

President Edgar Chagwa Lungu said he was deeply saddened by the death of Hon. Kufakwandi.

Speaking on behalf of the President, Minister of National Guidance & Religious Affairs, Hon. Rev. Godfridah Sumaili said,
President Lungu learnt with sadness about the sickness of Hon. Kufakwandi.

President Edgar Lungu said he authorised the medical evacuation of Hon. Kufakwandi to South Africa to receive specialised medical treatment.

He said Hon. Kufakwandi served the people of Sesheke and the nation with distinction both locally and abroad and hailed his contributions.

He urged the family to be united during this period of mourning.

And North-Western Provincial Minister, Hon. Nathaniel Mubukwanu said Hon. Kufakwandi did not just criticised government but also offered alternative solutions.

And Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Patrick Matibini said the death of Hon. Kufakwandi was a blow to the people of Sesheke.

The speaker sent 10 members of Parliament to represent him at the funeral and burial of Hon Kufakwandi.

Speaking on behalf of the Speaker, Chembe Member of Parliament Hon. Sebastian Kopulande, said the late honourable member of parliament’ s contribution were candid and debated the issues that effected the people of Sesheke and the country at large.

Dr. Matibini said the late MP served on various committees and did so with distinction.

He said Hon. Kufakwandi promoted a non-partisan approach to national issues.

He said this was key especially during the time that the political sphere was polarised.

He said the country should not be canibalised into regional or party enclaves.

He urged the players in politics to use multipatism as a tool to unite and develop the country instead of using it as an instrument of divisions.

He called for the spirit of tolerance and embracing of divergent ideas as shown through the life of Hon. Kufakwandi.

Dr. Matibini also sent deepest condolonces to the Widow, Mrs. Masiliso Kufakwandi, His family and the people of Sesheke.

Opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema said the late Frank Simone Kufakwandi dedicated his life to service.

He praised his commitment to the people of Sesheke to bring development.

The son, Joseph Kufakwandi said his father rose from humble background to become a giant in Sesheke.

He said his life was about service to the people and urged other leaders to emulate him.
