President Joyce Banda: Don’t take the country back by voting for Dictators

Africa’s Second female president Joyce Banda of neighboring Malawi has urged the people in her country to guard against taking the country back by voting for dictators.

President Banda advised Malawians never to bring back leaders that instills fear and oppress citizens. She said the country was better off with a government that promotes unit and advocates for peace.

She said this will only be achieved by citizens who has the last say through the ballot on who presides on the affairs of the nation.

The Malawian leader said this on her facebook post where she urged Malawians to go and register ahead of the polls in the Southern African country.

As Vice president at the time, Ms. Banda ascended to power after President Bingu Wa Mutharika died in office on April 5, 2012. Below is the post by Her Excellency Dr. Joyce Banda:

You can know a tree by its fruits and you can know the type of your leaders by what they say when it comes to peace but one thing I have to be honest with you my friends is that we must walk together and move forward together.

You are better off with a government that is advocating for peace and unity than going back to those days of oppression, days of fear, you don’t need that in your life.

Therefore you need to go and register in large numbers so we can move forward together. Backwards never!
