Patriotic Front senior official Miles Sampa has implied that a government should not be involved in a fight with a departed leader’s family over the burial of his/ her body.
Reposting a statement from anonymous, as if in endorsement, Sampa implied that a good government should understand that simple matter.
The post noted an example of the late former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe whose body the state wanted to bury at the national shrine.
However, Mugabe’s family stood their ground and former leader’s remains were buried at his rural home.
To the contrary the Zambian government is locked in legal battle in the South African Court with the late former President Edgar Lungu’s family over his burial.
