Popular nightspot Klub Vegas Annex goes up in flames

Fire has swept through the building housing one of Lusaka’s most popular nightspots, Klub Vegas Annex in Longacres area.

This comes just days after an inferno reduced large potions of COMESA Market in Lusaka to ashes, causing traders to lose millions of kwacha worth of merchandise and leaving one trader dead.

The fire broke out around 11:15 hours on Monday, with the cause of the fire not yet known.

Scores of onlookers watched in disbelief as the top floor of the building was billowing with smoke.

Combined efforts of the Lusaka City Council, Zambia Air Force and National Airports fire departments later contained the fire.

Vegas Annex is the most popular of a chain of Vegas nightclubs spread between Lusaka and the Copperbelt.
