Police warn, caution fired resident doctors association president Brian Sampa

The police have warned and cautioned Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) President, Dr. Brian Chota Sampa for ‘inciting persons employed in the provision of essential services.

Police Spokesperson, Esther Katongo says Sampa incited members of the association between 12th May, 2021 and 01st June, 2021 in Lusaka to go on an industrial action.

Sampa was recently dismissed from the Civil Service for absconding work for ten consecutive.

He denies ever missing work in his career and accuses authorities of trying to intimidate the leadership of his association to stop them from demanding what government owes the doctors.

Sampa leads an association of about three thousand doctors countrywide who started an industrial action a few weeks ago, demanding arrears and employment of 500 doctors.

However, they temporarily suspended their go slow to respond to a rise in cases of Covid-19 amidst alleged continued intimidation. -byta fm
