POLICE in Kasama have raided and teargassed the home of former Kasama Central Member of Parliament and United Party for National Development (UPND) Vice President, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba’s house in Kasama.

By press time, Police were yet to confirm on the number of people arrested and on what charges.

It has been said that Police surrounded the house at 04:00 hrs after an urgent security tip-off and stormed the house.

It has been alleged that about 28-30 people were arrested at the house and offensive weapons were confiscated during the police raid.

Meanwhile Mwamba confirmed that his house has been raided and cadres who were meant to provide security at his residence have been arrested.

“My home in Kasama is opposite the golf course where the PF rally was held yesterday, previously the same rally had been slated to take place at the Stadium in Kasama but was changed. Some PF cadres who had been bused into Kasama had planned to come and attack my home after their rally.” Mwamba explained on his Facebook page, “Our UPND youth team stayed overnight to keep visual. However early this morning at 5hrs my home was surrounded and raided…the UPND youth team has been rounded up and arrested”

    • @ Sometimes I wonder why people refer to Lungu as a God fearing man.The Bible is very clear:It says:You shall know them by their fruit.Lungu’s character is far from being of the man who fears God.

  8. What surprise me is that, these policemen swiftly take action on very silly, untrue and unfounded issues as long as they are directed to the opposition especially the UPND. Any issue that involve their paymaters, they will either be quiet or embark on investigations that take ages or centuries to complete despite evidence of people being involved in such serious cases being known. Mapenzi Hambulo was shot at and killed in cold blood by a known policeman through a word of command from Edgar Lungu. That murderer police officer still walk the streets freely up to now though a life was lost in such a very inhuman manner. This morning they raid a home of GBM in Kasama and arrest some innocent souls who have committed no crime yet those who commit serious crimes are blessed and honoured by Edgar Lungu. What kind of person do we have as a nation in the name of President ?

  9. Lungu, you have just destroyed yourself. End of you. Why are you coming for prayers for? Hypocrits. I will not attend the
Prayers organized by idiots. The police have stolen money and planted weapons, they failed to arrest him in Lusaka , now this is what they are doing, it won’t work. Damaged yourself.

  12. Ba Zambian Eye be factual. Those cadres were pulling down PF campaign materials and were about to burn them when the police pounced on them after a tip of. They ran for their lives and headed straight into GBM’s residence and locked themselves up. Police had to break in their rooms only to find 2 petrol bombs, machetes and pangas.

    • Oh really!pulling down pf campaign materials? The police moved in at the speed of light to arrest the people involved. How ironic? How many pf cadres have been arrested in Lusaka for destroying UPND campaign materials on the streets and main bus station?Morover pf cadres have been assaulting and even killed over 17innocent citizens. They even move with offensive weopons IN BROAD DAYLIGHT IN THE PRESENCE OF THE POLICE (pf armed wing).

Now you nwnat to convince us that UPND is the cause of the chaos?Awe twakana,Namumufilwayye bane. You can’t maiyain peace by doing selecteive and biased policing. That belonged to the apatheid era.

      • Read to understand. They were about to burn them when the Police arrived on the scene. For info even PF guys pulling down UPND materials in our area were arrested, beaten and one of them the leg was broken. I was not biased in writing that. But now i will be. GBM is killing your party unknowingly. Its time you wake up or it will be too late.
