Police in Ndola nab around 70 beer lovers, locked in a bar

More than 70 people the majority of them women have been nabbed by police in Ndola after they locked themselves in a bar.

The beer lovers were enjoying themselves drinking beer behind closed doors.

They were arrested by a team of State, council police and health inspectors led by Ndola Town Clerk Wisdom Bwalya.

The team were conducting a night patrol in the area.

They rounded up a group of young men and women who were found enjoying their beer under candle light in a bar at Chifubu market, while the doors were locked.

Meanwhile, some of the preventive measures put in place by government to combat the spread of coronavirus was the banning of bars.

In one of his address to the nation on coronavirus, President Edgar Lungu ordered the shutdown of bars, nightclubs, casinos and gyms,

However, some night revellers in Ndola at another time were again caught on the wrong side of the regulations.
