Police detain vocal Tayali and his Garden Boy

Tayali who is a leader of the opposition EEP has been detained at Woodlands Police station while his Garden Boy Richard Siame is being detained at Kabwata Police station.

Tayali’s residence was early hours of Sunday raided by unknown masked people whom he accused to have been from Zambia Army. They bundled his Garden Boy and left him with his hands tied before speed off in a Landcruiser.

The Zambia Army and Minister of Defense dismissed Tayali’s accusations warning him against involving the Army in his politics.

He was summoned to appear at Force Headquarters this afternoon. Police by press time had not stated the reasons for arresting Tayali.

This is the eighth time he is being arrested within one year eight months of the UPND in government. He is a radical critic of President Hichilema who he has accused of being a dictator.

Tayali through his facebook live programmes at 8pm CAT every evening attracted a number of followers both locally and outside Zambia who participate by phoning in during the programme.
