Police in Lusaka has denied PF presidential candidate Chishimba Kambwili despite meeting Police bond requirements.

His co-accused has however been released. Kambwili is being kept at some small cell outskirt of Lusaka in the Chilanga area.

PF presidential candidate Miles Sampa who visited Kambwili said he, Emmanuel Mwamba and another MP offered to sign for the bond but to no avail.

Earlier Kambwili expressed concerned that he hoped would not be poisoned while in custody. He said he was so concerned with the Police wanting to detain him.

Sampa who gave an update on his Facebook page of his visit appealed to Home Affairs Minister Jack Mwiimbu to intervene.

Drove to the deep farms of Chilanga to the Balmoral police station where our brother Hon Chishimba Kambwili (CK) has been incarcerated. The station looks and still the same as in 1956 when it was opened.

I managed to see and had a chat with him. He tells me has been charged with unlawful assembly for some youths that went to his house last to give him soliderity and had placards written ‘Prophet CK’.

“Boi how could I have chased people that came to my house. I have no control of people who choose to come visit me at home for whatever reason. We are Africans and in our tradition we welcome people that come to our homes” CK narrated to me.

I took my letter of introduction from Parliament and so did Hon Robert Kalimi and Amb Emmanuel Mwamba to offer ourselves as surities for his bond. CK has however been denied bond despite meeting all requirements. Meantime his co- accused on the same charge a Charles Kakulu has been released on police bond.

My personal apeal to the IG and Home Affairs Minister Jack Mwimbu to intervene and avail my brother CK a bond in compliance with ‘The Rule of Law’.
