Police Boss, four others fired

President Hakainde Hichilema has fired the Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba along with four Permanent Secretaries.

This is contained in a statement released to Zambian Eye.

President Hichilema has since sworn-in new Inspector General of Police Graphel Musamba .

The President has also relieved Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration) Doris Nayame Chibombe of her duties, awaiting re-deployment and he has since appointed Alita Mbahwe, former Commissioner, Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) as Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration).

President Hichilema has also transferred Yvone C. Mpundu, Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise to the Ministry of Agriculture as Permanent Secretary (Administration).

Meanwhile, President Hakainde Hichilema has terminated the contracts of four Permanent Secretaries, namely: Wisdom Bwalya, Perpetual Mphande Chuulu, Danny Mfune and John Msimuko.

The President has also transferred Chembo Mbula, Permanent Secretary (Administration) at theMinistry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to Cabinet Office as Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, whereas Chilufya Darko, Permanent Secretary at Cabinet Office and ProfessorLackson Kasonka, Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Health, will be redeployed.

Kajoba has learnt of his dismissal while on an anti- smuggling mission in Kasumbalesa.

However, the reasons of these firings remains unknown to the public.
