Police in Lusaka have arrested and detained Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Tembo for allegedly defaming President Edgar Lungu.

Tembo, who is also the spokesperson of the Opposition Alliance, allegedly doubted President Lungu’s mental faculties in a statement issued on March 15, 2019.

He was reacting to President Lungu’s State of the Nation address on Friday last week.

Police spokesperson Esther Katingo has confirmed the opposition leader’s arrest and promised to give further details in due course.
