Sampa kneels before President Lungu

Satirical musician Pilato has poked fun at Lusaka mayoral candidate Miles Sampa’s political trajectory, likening it to the biblical fall of Satan from heaven to earth.

Following Sampa’s failure to show up for the live mayoral debate on Diamond TV last night, the controversial artiste took to Twitter to mock the erstwhile Deputy Minister and presidential aspirant.

“Started from the bottom now we are here…. Miles Sampa started from the top now he is underground. He can’t even debate…. When Satan was thrown away from heavens he landed on earth, ba Miles has gone way too deep,” Pilato tweeted.” And he wants people to vote for him just because he is now taking selfies with the president. Shame.”

Sampa, who is standing on the ruling PF ticket, is widely seen as the frontrunner in tomorrow’s by-election that was necessitated by the death of Wilson Kalumba. He and the ruling party have mounted an extravagant campaign, decorating every tree and wall in the city with campaign posters.

The PF are also using the by-election to campaign for Presidential Edgar Lungu’s 2021 third term bid.
