The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) is seemingly headed for defeat in Kantanshi constituency in Mufulira and Wusakile Constituency in Kitwe.

With counting almost finished, Yamfwa Mukanga, the Patriotic Front candidate, is set to lose his Kantanshi Constituency seat to his nephew, Anthony Mumba, who stood as an independent. Mumba is a former diplomat and a Copperbelt-based businessman,

Pavyuma Kalobo, who was overlooked by the PF for adoption, has secured the Wusakile seat. However, Police are reportedly having a tough time dispersing Kalobo’s supporters who are reportedly celebrating his victory.

According to a well placed source from Kitwe, Police fired teargas to disperse supporters who had began mobilizing and celebrating before finishing the counting in all polling stations.
