PF secretariat remains intact – Mwamba

Filed under: Latest News |

Patriotic Front (PF) Chairperson for Information and Publicity Emmanuel Mwamba says the party secretariat remains intact.

Sunday-29th October 2023

We have noted that a false media notice was issued and carried as authentic by Kalemba Online Newspsper and other hostile media, that alleged that former President Edgar Lungu would hold a press conference at 12;00hrs today at the Party Secretariat located at the Coner of Panganani and Lumumba Roads in Lusaka.

Further on Saturday, 28th October 2023, a Mr. Morgan Ngona, who purports to be Secretary General of the Patriotic Front, claimed that he would storm the Party Secretariat and take over the building, and change door locks. He stated that he would be accompanied by the Zambia Police.

Both Notices were issued and promoted by Mr. Morgan Ngona and the UPND, which resulted in journalists turning up at the Secretariat today at the appointed time.

Further officers from the Zambia Police also turned up fearing a possible clash at the Secretariat since there was Information that President Lungu would address the media.

The Police left after recognising that the alarm was false and a total fabrication.

We also noted a press conference held by a suspended official and Mafinga Member of Parliament Robert Chawinga. Mr. Chawinga.

At this Press Conference, Mr. Chawinga was posturing and purporting to be leader of the Opposition in Parliament and we have largely decided to ignore his remarks and his comments for now.

We urge the UPND Government to desist from nestling and facilitating lawlessness currently being perpetrated by Mr. Miles Sampa who it is accepted , that he held an illegal Conference and is currently engaged in conducting a coup d’état against the Patriotic Front Party, relying heavily on President Hakainde Hichilema to abuse state power to help him achieve this.

During this period of heightened misinformation, it is imperative that the media must undertake to confirm these purported actions with our Secretary General Hon. Raphael Nakacinda and our media team in; Deputy Chairperson of Information and Publicity Ms. Nakiwe Simpungwe and Media Director, Mr. Edwin Lifwekelo since I am out of the country.

We wish to state that the position of the Party has not changed regarding expelled and suspended officials.

Further, any changes being implemented at the Registrar of Societies or Parliament are illegal and will be vigorously fought to forestall legality and normality.

The Patriotic Front and its leadership are a revolutionary product and creation of the people and the current attempts to steal the Party will be vigorously resisted.

Issued by;

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba
Chairperson for Information and Publicity
Member of the Central Committee
