PF sloganBy Masinga Khumalo

When I see the so called new PF campaign slogan ‘Sonta Apowabomba’ I can’t avoid thinking, what are these guys in PF smoking?

I mean if you are a ruling party for 5 years and your main competitor is an opposition party (the UPND) which has never been in power before and has not yet been given the mandate to develop the country, you don’t ask them to show where they have worked (Sonta Apowabomba). The phrase is misplaced.
Even in school we were taught to convert numbers to the same unit before making a comparison. You can’t divide meters into centimetres, the answer will be wrong.

The PF slogan would have been very much valid if their main competitor was UNIP or MMD, because these are the parties which have been in power before.

And even if we went ahead and made the comparison, both UNIP and MMD performed far better than the PF. UNIP and MMD can both ‘sonta’ more developmental projects they worked on than the PF.

The UPND has unmatched potential because of the exemplary track-record of the party’s president (and other party leaders) while the PF government has been tested and we have all witnessed how they have failed.

Look for a better slogan ba PF!

  5. These are last kicks of a dying horse. This is indeed foolishness as the party suggests (pfools) let’s see if your foolish slogans will ever help you. Sela tubombeko. Nothing is embedded in it. Sonta apowabomba -total madness. By the way, the money you are dishing out this time, the slogan donchi kubeba will indeed work against you.

  7. What a sad departure from the positive slogans of “more money in your pockets”, “reduced tax for workers”, etc. which enticed and endeared the party to the masses in 2011.

What PF have come up with are not political slogans meant to win support, but arrogant statements of “kubodola”. Please, sale your strengths and spend little time talking about your opponents failures or weaknesses. It is not too late to change them.

  8. And why is PF so obsessed with using bemba all the time. Even at rallies in Lusaka, Western and Eastern Provinces. Is it the PF official Language?
