PF Minister vents frustration over Sesheke loss

Minister of National Development Planning Alexander Chiteme is the latest senior PF and government official to lose his head over the loss to the UPND in the just-ended Sesheke parliamentary by-election.

Chiteme, who was one of the many cabinet ministers who had camped in Sesheke to ensure victory for the PF, took to Facebook to vent his frustration over the ruling party’s loss, insinuating that the opposition UPND’s Romeo Kangombe had ‘sacrificed’ four lives including that of his own father to win the seat.

Kangombe lost his father, a man of advanced age, three days before the poll.

“What’s on my mind!?

“Well I am back from Sesheke.

“And well congratulations to violence and Some named party and candidate for that.

“Now I understand when people say we sacrificed a lot to be MP’s, some sold houses, yet again some used pension funds but to sacrifice four lives and leaving 10 hospitalized is by no means how I would wish to get to parliament.

“Two gone by lightening, some beaten by bees others switched with other things lol 😂!

“And for the record I love my Parents wouldn’t trade them in for anything. Dad, Mum I love you…

“Like I said congratulations!!!🎉🍾🎈🎊,” Wrote on his Facebook page, Wednesday.

But Chiteme’s post was not well received as some who commented on his post took turns roasting him on his perceived immaturity while others advised him to be gracious in defeat.

Chiteme however refused to back down as he engaged in a series of heated and sometimes hilarious exchanges with Facebook users who found it odd that an educated person like him (a chartered accountant) could believe that elections can be won through black magic.

  1. This idiot,of a man who should behave honourably, is behaving like a child in a long skirt with big shoulders. how can a country develop with this type of Ministers who think in reverse. I am really disappointed with this Minister. any way, what can we do, the ball is on us. Zambians wake up. see the sin you have committed. Chiteme where do you come from , where you openly mock the people who are mourning with no remorse. You are saying , you President went there for mockery purposes. 3. Mr Chiteme, for the first time, I’ve agreed with Chilufya Tayali’s advice to Mr Davies Mwila and the entire PF Party. Not long ago, the UPND lost Mangango but they accepted the result. An election is like a football match. One has to win and the other has to lose. That’s how the game goes.
