PF Minister Munkombwe endorses HH

Southern province Minister Daniel Munkombwe has endorsed the candidature of opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Hakainde Hichilema in next week’s Presidential election.

And Veteran politician Dr Vernon Mwaanga says next week’s election will be a refrundum on the Patriotic Front’s misrule.

Munkombwe who is also the ruling Patriotic Front Chairman was speaking Tuesday afternoon at Hichilema’s rally in Choma. He told the huge rally that he was sure that Hichilema will win next week’s election.
Munkombwe pledged to spend the last four days outside his house campaigning to ensure that people turn-up to vote next week on Tuesday.

“The remaining four days I will not sleep in my house will go round encouraging people to vote. HH, you are worth it. HH please do not betray these people,” said Munkombwe.

Munkombwe told the rally that he was sure that Hichilema will win the elections and urged him not betray the people of Zambia. He said Hichilema will have his backing.

“From now on HH, you are insured. May God bless you so that you rule this country? Everyone must rule, next time it will be Lozis then Kaonde’s then back to the Bembas,” said Munkombwe.

Munkombwe who is serving as Minister said he will not wait to be fired because politics was voluntary. He said he would not be part of a misguided campaign in the PF led by Richwell Siamunene.

He also explained that HH was instrumental in the formation of UPND. He narrated how HH gave him and Jeremiah Munag’andu 30 million and bought a first vehicle when UPND was formed.

Munkombwe said it was not true that HH came from nowhere in 2006 to take over UPND adding that he was instrumental in the formation of the party which was initially supposed to be led by Levy Mwanawasa.

And Dr. Mwaanga who spoke earlier said next week’s election must be taken as a referendum on the PF misrule. He said the election was not about continuity because the PF has failed.

Dr. Mwaanga said before endorsing HH, he took time to analyse all the candidates contesting. He said HH was the best candidate adding that the time had come for Southern province to produce a president.

He urged the people from all parties to turn-up in numbers and vote for HH. Dr. Mwaanga said the election next week should see the country bring to an end mediocre leadership.

  1. No surprise here.

One thing for sure, whoever win the election will have to work to unify a divided country. This election has been very popularizing.

  5. If I know Mr. Munkombwe, the moment Mr E. C. Lungu will be declared winner of the 2015 presidential election, that’s the moment Mr. Munkombwe will start praising him extremely highly in the hope that he be appointed Southern Province minister again.

If I were Mr. Hichilema, I wouldn’t trust such a man.

If I were Mr. HH, I wouldn’t be excited about the Southern Province big rallies: Southern Province has always gives UPND 100% votes.

You can’t win with one, or two provinces.
Those who care should know this fact by now.

    God bless you all.

    • @ saviour, you are a liar. Southern province has been very liberal with votes even for other parties. Your weird thinking about which provinces will support UPND will come to an end on Wednesday next week. For now continue misleading yourself that PF will win in other provinces. Just watch as the reality unfolds before your blind eyes.

      • @python,

Your language is strong, but your points betray you: they’re feeble.
This leaves me wondering from which generation you hail from.

Were you there in 2001 when the UPND founder President Mr. A. Mazoka (RIP) swept not only the Southern Province, but also the Western and the N. Western Provinces and still lost to Mr. Mwanawasa (RIP)?

Mr. Mwanawasa never mobilized the people of Zambia to support his cause in the manner Mr. E. C. Lungu has done it. It’s simply great.

While others have been boating about how rich they are, Mr. E. C. Lungu has demonstrated the power of love.

In fact, I must make mention here that the majority, UPND included, are perplexed at how a man that has never run in a presidential race before can garner up such massive support from so many provinces—Northern, Muchinga, Luapula, the C. B, and now, the Eastern—in just a few days, and after having been openly frustrated from all corners possible while his opponents were all over the country campaigning freely.

Mr. E. C. Lungu is such a blessed man. No doubt.
And now, there is no stopping him.

God bless you in your real name.

  8. PF’s party culture cannot unite Zambia under the one zambia one nation. This doesn’t exist in their nature. Right up to his death Sata never pronounced the “one zambia one nation”. He never acted it either.
Sata was the worst President Zambia has ever had. He institutionalized Mchinga Bemba tribalism. He eelinieted Bemba Northerners and Luapulans.Objectively and without prejudice view the postings in the diplomatic service and civil service and the quasi government organisations, its Bembas from Mchinga province.
How can anyone possibly say “let Lungu continue Sata’ s legacy”. How do you continue something wrong?

  11. Mr Munkombwe is a political veteran of politics of the belly and he has smelled where power is going come after 20th. He is a sure litmus test of who is winning this election. The PF boat has been burnt and cannot be salvaged.

  13. Tribalism in Southern Province is deep rooted because even in Primary schools, those grade 1s,2s they are already tribalist. they know those kids who are not Tongas. Leaving and working in Southern Province if you are not Tonga is Hell on Earth, they will discriminate you openly. These are Bad people.
