PF directs Police to probe Muvi TV Journalist

The ruling Patriotic Front has called on the Police to summon Muvi Television Journalist Kalani Muchima over his story on the beating of Justice Minister Given Lubinda by his party Youths.

Muchima in his report on Lubinda’s beating stated that some people he did not mention were happy.

Featuring on a PF Interactive Media forum today, Lubinda described the reporting as unethical. He said the Journalist reporting was inciting.

Speaking at the same forum PF Media Director called on the Police to summon Muchima to explain which people were happy with the beating of the Minister. He said the party was worried that its member was attacked.

And Lubinda says Kabwata constituency remains dear to his heart for having given him mandate four times. He said the people of Kabwata have made it easy for him to attract development to the constituency.

On whether the media should be regulated, Lubinda said he is advocate of self regulation. He said the self-regulation was key under a clear legal framework.

‘Some people have criticised me that I have changed the way I was in the opposition to the person am now. No, I have not changed a single bite. Todate, I am still a strong advocate of access to information and I want those laws be enacted before President Lungu goes to renew his mandate in 2021 and I will do whatever is within my means to achieve that ambition,’ stated Lubinda.
