PF cadres beat up Given Lubinda

Suspected Patriotic Front (PF) cadres in Kabwata have beaten their Member of Parliament Given Lubinda during his tour of Kabwata market.

According to the sources from Kabwata, Lubinda who is also Justice Minister was beaten in full view of marketeers by cadres who are annoyed that he doesn’t visit the area. Other cadres accused Lubinda of neglecting the youths of his constituency. 

And Zambia Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed in a statement to the media that Lubinda made a complaint of having been assaulted by unknown people during his tour of Kabwata Market  She said this occurred on Friday July 12, between 15: 00 hours and 15:30 hours.

She says the suspects have not yet been identified and investigations in the matter have been instituted and a docket of assault has also been opened.

And Katongo clarified that contrary to what is circulating on social media,  Lubinda was at no point undressed by the assailants and at the time he went to report the matter to Kabwata Police Station, he was fully dressed.

But social media reports indicate that the Justice Minster was undressed by the attackers.

In the recent past, audio recordings from suspected Kabwata residents and PF sympathisers threatened that Lubinda will never have their support for abandoning those who supported him.
