The Patriotic Front (PF) has adopted Dean Musule as its candidate in the forthcoming Sesheke parliamentary by-election slated for February 12, 2019.

Unveiling Masule at a media briefing today, party Secretary General Davies Mwila expressed optimism that the ruling party will scoop the seat.

He announced that just like Mangango, the PF will go into Sesheke with issue based politics which will in the end, win them the seat.

“As a party, we shall neither condone nor tolerate any form of violence or indiscipline before, during and after elections in Sesheke and the seven local government by-elections across the country. We will campaign based on our manifesto and our developmental agenda for this country,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General has urged the seven candidates who applied to contest the Sesheke Parliamentary by-election to remain loyal to the party and work with the adopted candidate and ensure victory is attained.

“To the applicants who have not been adopted, remain loyal to the party and President. As the Central Committee, we urge all aspiring candidates to practice the spirit of unity and rally behind comrade Dean Masule for there can only be one candidate at a time.”

The Patriotic Front received eight applications from individuals who expressed interest in contesting the Sesheke Parliamentary by-election.

And Mwila also informed the media that the ruling party has appointed its Chairperson for Sports, MCC Kebby Mbewe as campaign manager who will be assisted by Captain Walusiku Liambela Walusiku.

The Sesheke Constituency seat fell vacant following the death of its lawmaker, Frank Kufakwandi.

One Response to PF adopts Masule for Sesheke by-election

  1. According to today’s Daily Nation ( 07.01.2019 ) report, the candidate Dean Musule is not the preferred candidate by the local organs of PF in Sesheke Constituency. From Branch to Provincial committees, this candidate was rejected.PF should seriously investigate this and if true,he should be replaced with the peoples choice before nomination date.If Central Committee imposes this candidate, the seat will certainly be retained by UPND or indeed an Independent candidate if there will be any.
