PeP Govt to legalise prostitution in Zambia
Patriots for Economic Progress leader Sean Tembo says prostitution should be legalised so that commercial sex workers can contribute to the country’s revenue through taxes.

Tembo says pretending that prostitution does not exist in society is a disservice to the country because it remains an underground sector without regulation.
He says it is better to legalize the industry and regulate it so that all sex workers can be properly licensed and undergo regular screenings for sexually transmitted infections.
The opposition leader says despite not being a popular sector, prostitution is not illegal under the law and can be a revenue earner.
With Zambia’s Christian nation status, Tembo’s proposal seems far fetched, but the opposition leader maintains this is not about a popular policy, but a right one.
