PAC to work with banks to empower women

Opposion People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) says it will work with the banks to empower women.

Women National Chairperson Rosaline Chipasha says the PAC government will put in place policies that would attract banks to empower women.

She explains that PAC is determined to break a system that supports few individuals and bring about reforms that will support every Zambian who is willing to work hard for the betterment of the country.

“We believe that in order to empower everyone, PAC will have to engage the private sector such as banks and other financial Institutions to enable them give out empowerment loans to citizens, especially for women,” she says.

Our hardworking mothers, sisters and wives have lagged behind for far too long. PAC will implement policies that will ensure that banks are encouraged to support women entrepreneurs.”

The People’s Alliance for Change Government will consider withdrawing its business and deposits from all banks that will be rigid and refuse to participate in the empowerment programs.

“Such banks should not be surprised should the people of Zambia follow suit and close their accounts with them,” says Ms. Chipasha.

Ms. Chipasha wondered why one would be in a relationship where only one party is the beneficiary.

“Why should you be in a relationship where just one party is the beneficiary? A relationship is a two way thing, it’s a give and take situation.   Why continue banking with a bank that is not interested in participating in the development of this country. As the government working together with the people we shall not be kind to banks and other private institutions that won’t want to participate in our empowerment programs through the implementation of various policies.”

She said the PAC’s main plan is empowerment and employment as it is the only way to revive this economy.
