OYV welcomes Kabimba’s dismissal

Operation Young Vote (OYV) would like to put it on record that the firing of Wynter Kabimba both as Secretary General of the Patriotic Front (PF) and Minister of Justice is a very welcome move.

The move by President Michael Chilufya Sata to rest Wynter Kabimba has not only come as good riddance to the PF party and Government but to the political and democratic dispensation of the nation and people of Zambia at large.

It was very clear that Wynter abused his comradeship with the President. Mr. Kabimba trivialized everything that others said; he had the alpha and omega attitude. Mr. Wynter was a very big barrier to the realization of a People Driven Constitution for Zambia.

We are very clear in our mind as young people that the departure of Wynter has ended a very haze and terrible season of constitution making in Zambia. At the same time the appointment of Hon. Edgar Lungu brings new hope to the constitution building of Zambia, and we the young people are confident that Hon. Lungu, who has sober social understanding of the demands for a new constitution and better lives for all is very well placed urgently deliver a People Driven Constitution to the people of Zambia.

As OYV, we are sure that Mr. Wynter Kabimba is regretting his attitude and arrogance on the delivery of the People Driven Constitution and we further urge him to seek advise and guidance from the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) on how he can be part of those demanding for a better Zambia for all including himself through the New Constitution.

A People Driven Constitution could have saved Mr. Wynter from the firing and humiliation and not the amount of cheating and lies that he vented that could not change the minds of the Zambian on the constitution making. The Zambians resolved to have their long awaited People Driven Constitution this year (Golden Jubilee year). Mr. Kabimba tried to deliberately mislead the Zambians on the constitution a situation that actually worked to his and the PF’s peril.

It is our hope that the firing of Mr. Kabimba is not only good riddance to the PF Party and Government but should also be clearance to barriers to Zambians giving unto ourselves a People Driven Constitution @ 50 years.
