Opinion: Where Sata went wrong?

The other day, I raised a question on what Edgar Lungu can do to enhance his reputation and sustain PF governments survival. Today, I would like to analyze where the great leader SATA went wrong. (Dont get me wrong, the man was good). The only disadvantage was he did’nt have the right backing in terms of cabinet. (In my analysis I will get into his head,what caused his reaction,will try to understand him together) why he made such statement useless MP or minister.first and for most, look at Chiluba cabinet,he had the best brains available. (what did he do, some of you will argue he sold you houses. From a selfish perspective it is good, but have you seen the ripple effect of such actions.that why political decisions are dangerous when made over the economic precedence).

Back to Sata, Sata comes from a communist or socialist back ground.if you look people from this time and age and there way of thinking,it is in this time that alot of infrastructure around the world. Places like China ,Russia and alot of African countries. ( not saying that its bad,we are just trying to understand sata,the man of action.the way he percieved life and politics and the way things should be done). To him and his age development was what his eye’s could see. Things like economic scales, GDP, globalization, free market economy and other things where foreign to him. (These concepts and theories of today, did’nt bear much to him, freedom fighters attitude)
sorry, I just wanted you to enter in his head and to see how he saw things then we can understand him better.

Sata was a man of action many of you are blaming him about the economy (YOUR points may be valid to a certain level). But I think he was the right man at the right moment. Most of these countries like China and Russia are enjoying the benefits of there economic boom from the sweat of one generation at one time they had a strong leader like Mau and Stalin. We can argue all you like but these created the foundation for the economic bedrock of these countries.sata has done that that,now other can take us places who understand the way things work now in the global world.

My point is when Sata talked he expected things to happen, like Kenneth Kaunda. How and where the resources came from where not his business. Levy Mwanawasa had the advantage of Ng’andu Magande who would refuse and explain why he refused and the repacations of the presidents demands.

While, Alexander Chikwanda would just agree. Aagain it goes back to what era these two Finance Ministers steam from. Magande knows the nitty and gritty of modern economics. Just compare the two budgets as presented my these guys. Windfall tax innovation by Magande. Chikwanda the only thing he knows is short-cut solutions and that is borrowing. He could’nt stand up to Sata and explain to him the repacations of his actions,he is like a landlord asking advance to his tenant.

Sata had a vision for the nation, he just did’nt have the right team to back him up. I admire and respect him. The other things.sata owed a lot of favors to people who helped him to power.thats why he embraced alot of people in Goverment, because he was a man of honor. Thats why gunes like M’membe put people in Goverment thus poluting the intelligence. Most people could’nt be trusted he brought wolves in the barn.

Greatman, Mr Sata
