Now NDF expels Kang’ombe
Drama has continued at the PF-instituted National Dialogue Forum (NDF) as it has now expelled popular Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang’ombe.
Kang’ombe, who was recently nominated by PF and scooped the Presidency of the Local Government Association of Zambia (LGAZ) had earlier been summoned by the NDF Standing Committee Chairperson Boniface Cheembe.
A member of NDF who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of being cited confirmed the development to the media and said he can’t say his name for fear of being expelled.
The committee had requested for Kang’ombe to appear before them to show cause on why disciplinary action should be taken against him for;
“1. Disclosing and causing to be published information discussed by members within the Working Groups and Forum without consent by the Forum, contrary to Section 12 of the National Dialogue Act No. 1 of 2019.
- behaviour by himself which causes discord among members of the Forum; and
- The taking of a political action by yourself that adversely affects the deliberations or the operation or success of the review process contrary to Section 6(4) of the National
Dialogue Act No. 1 of 2019,” the charge letter read in part.
Kang’ombe, who issued the statement in the presence of Republican President later involved his lawyer Hobday Kabwe in the issue.
