Nkana take on Tunisia’s Etoile

Nkana playersNkana face Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel in Sousse today in search of their first Group B win in the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Zambian champions are currently bottom of Group B on one point after two rounds of games played and are also a point behind their hosts and 2006 winners Etoile.

Nkana’s lone point in Group B came on May 24 when they rallied at home to finish 1-1 with third placed Sewe Sport of Cote d’Ivoire.

Nkana also return to Tunisia hoping  their luck there continues just two months after ejecting  CA Bizertin 1-1 on away goals rule to advance to this year’s CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

“We are going back to Tunisia where we qualified to the group stage and memories are still very fresh,” Nkana coach Zeddy Saileti said.

Nkana’s quest to extend their unbeaten run to two games has been boosted by the return from a two-match suspension of key defender Christopher Munthali.

However, the visitors are keeping their fingers crossed on the availability of striker Festus Mbewe.

Mbewe who travelled with the team to Tunisia is still awaiting his clearance from FIFA after rejoining Nkana last month following the expiry of his six-month loan with demoted PSL club Golden Arrows.
