Nkana, NAPSA crash out of CAF Confederation Cup

Zambia’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup, Nkana and NAPSA Stars have both exited the competition with losses in their respective final group matches.

NAPSA lost 2 goals to 1 to JS Kabylie of Algeria, while Nkana were not good enough for RAJA Casablanca, losing 2-nil away in Morocco.

And speaking during the post-match press briefing, NAPSA Stars head coach MOHAMAD FATHI said he is not disappointed with his team’s performance throughout the competition.

ZNBC’s Memory Maliswa reports from Algeria that JSK coach Lavagme Dilli said NAPSA is a good side.

He further said his team performed better because the young players in the team have now settled and have gained experience.

Meanwhile, ZNBC’s Musenge Mulimba reports from Morocco that Nkana Coach Beston Chambeshi described the team’s CAF outing as fair but wished they won their home games, as the story would have been different.

Raja Casablanca Coach Lasdaad Chabbi said he is happy with the results and awaits the draws for the quarter finals.

He said his team is ready to face any team in the quarter finals.

Raja Casablanca finished with 15 points, winning all their group games while Nkana only managed to collect 6 points in group D.

Pyramid finished second with Tanzanian side Namungo bottom of the table. -znbc
