Nkana FC have promoted former National Team foward Zeddy Saileti to
caretaker coach following the death of head trainer Masauso Mwale.

Mwale died last week on May 23 in a car accident on the eve of Nkana’s
CAF Confederation Cup Group B home tie against Sewe Sport of Cote
d’Ivoire.

Saileti was first assistant coach prior to Mwale’s tragic passing.

“We met on Wednesday and thought that we appoint him as caretaker
coach in the interim with the view that at least they shared the same
vision and we would want him to do so in the interest of continuity,”
Mwansa said.

“Otherwise, making drastic changes at this hour would have a negative
impact on the team’s performance.”

Saileti was thrown into the deep end last Saturday, when he oversaw
Nkana’s rally against Sewe Sport of Cote d’Ivoire to draw 1-all at
Nkana Stadium in Kitwe, Just 24 hours after Mwale’s tragic death.

This will be Saileti’s second stint as interim coach after taking
charge of the team in July 2012 following the dismissal of Linos
Makwaza.

Meanwhile, ex-Mamelodi Sundowns and Zambia midfielder Gift Kampamba
has been elevated from second to first assistant while the club
searches for a new number three trainer.
