New Generation Party leader Humphrey Siulapwa in the photo with his wife as they celebrated their 20 years in Marriage today. Silulapwa is one of the young leaders that worked closely with ruling party then MMD and he was used to denounce the opposition PF leader Michael Sata.

He strongly opposed the formation of the PF / UPND pact and predicated that it was going nowhere. In the run-up to 2011 elections he held press conferences every Sunday where he castigated those opposition government. At one point during a strike by nurses he stormed UTH where he blasted some medical personal for staying away from work.

After the MMD lost power in 2011 he left Zambia for the US where his wife is based and working as nurse. Sometime last year he came back to Zambia briefly and held a press briefing where he withdrew his support from MMD and said his party will work and support the new party in government, PF.

On a light moment below we have a message from his wife Kubi on their 20th Marriage Anniversary.

May 1st, 20 years ago, my husband and I started on a journey hardly anyone believed would last this long! It was a rough start and a roller coaster from day one.

We seemed to have absolutely nothing in common except love. It’s been the hardest ‘school’ I’ve attended, interspersed with ‘suspensions’ and threatened ‘expulsions’. But thru God’s Grace alone, “this choice I made” by Lucky Dube became the best choice as the years unraveled.

I started to see and experience the beautiful, unique personality my husband possessed. The sensitivity, despite his strong exterior, never too proud to express verbally and publicly his love and appreciation of me despite being a typical African man. The more I saw how we complimented each other, the more I experienced the real strong love we shared. The closer we became and held each other in tough and good times.

Looking back, I see how my marriage has drawn me closer to God, thru the tough and the good. God has blessed us with 3 grown lovely children. And now am experiencing the honey moon I never had, the only difference is that, this one has no deadline, and seems to be getting better each year!

I believe in Rom.8:28, All things work together for the good to those that love God and are called according to His purpose. Happy 20th Anniversary honey, thank you for believing in us and loving me even when am unlovable. You are my Knight in shining Armour! Love you more!!!
