Nevers Mumba in police cells
Nevers Mumba leader of the MMD faction spend the weekend in police cells at Woodlands after he was arrested for criminal tresspass at ZNBC.
On Thursday around 21:00 hours Dr Mumba stormed ZNBC Newsroom to compalin about a news item the national broadcaster had run on it’s news bulletin.
The police on Saturday midday surrounded his house in Kabulonga before conducting a search for firearms which yielded nothing. He was later picked and taken to Woodlands police station where he was formally arrested and charged.
Dr Mumba then declared a hunger strike demanding for the courts to hear the election petition of the opposition which he campaigned for in the just ended elections.
He was denied police bond and has spent two days in police cells. Dr Mumba is expected to be taken to court where his lawyers will push for his release today.
