There was a near punch-up in Parliament today between Choma Central UPND Member of Parliament, Cornelius Mweetwa and his Katuba counterpart, Jonas Shakafuswa.

Mr. Mweetwa was incensed after Mr. Shakafuswa clenched his fist in the chambers during the Questions for oral answer session.

Mr. Mweetwa rose on a point of order to ask if the clinching of the fist by Mr. Shakafuswa was not in breach of Parliamentary standing orders.

Mr. Mweetwa later walked out on the speaker who called him to order while daring his counterpart for a fight.

Dr. Matibini ordered Mr. Mweetwa to leave the chambers and come to parliament tomorrow.

The speaker urged UPND Whip, Gary Nkombo who was absent during the scuffle to help instill order in the UPND.

Dr. Matibini said he is disturbed by the behaviour exhibited by Mr. Mweetwa – ZNBC
