Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner Charity Katanga says the opposition NDC did not get a permit to celebrate their Roan victory on Friday.

Katanga yesterday ordered police to arrest any Roan Citizens who will drive around Luashya to celebrate the NDC’s victory.

Charity Katanga said the NDC should have notified the Police seven days before their planed celebrations.

“Yes I ordered my officers to arrest any citizen making noise in the street of Luanshya. The NDC could have notified us of their intended celebrations seven days before they won elections. Its lawlessness for any citizen to celebrate in the road without police permit,” she said.

Yesterday 14 NDC members were briefly detained in Roan by police for trying to celebrate the victory of their Parliamentary Candidate.

Police sealed off all roads in Luanshya to prevent NDC members from celebrating PF’s humiliating defeat.
