Opposition Forum for Democracy and Development president Edith Nawakwi has predicted victory ahead of the August 11 presidential elections.

Ms. Nawakwi says FDD will win the elections ruling out the possibility of her supporting UPND or PF. She explains that in an event that a rerun is called, it will be FDD and with PF or UPND.

“FDD will definately be number 1 or 2! There is nothing like supporting UPND or PF,” she says.

She took a swipe at UPND president Hakainde Hichilema whom he accuses of always wanting to be supported. She cited a number of failed Alliances Hichilema had entered in the past. She said the FDD will not want to be used like in 2006 where her party with UNIP backed Hichilema under the pact called United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

“UPND was in alliance with UNIP and FDD in 2006 and it was a flop, they went into alliance with PF and later MMD. How many alliances is UPND going to enter,” she wondered.

Nawakwi says if UPND feels it had already won the 2016 then why was it asking other parties for support. She claimed that UPND was going round the country lying to people that the party is working with FDD.

“UPND (members) are notorious in number of areas, (forinstance) they are going round saying they are working with us. They must stop forthwith,” warned Nawakwi.

  2. Nawakwi my sister you really think you can win an election in Zambia? From 15,000 votes to jump to more than a million ? not at all. Do you know that your fellow women in Zambia do not vote for their fellow women candidates?Food for thought. Just join hands with your fellow opposition parties and forget the past.

  3. FDD are better off alone after all they’re offering better opposition than upnd. upnd have claimed that even if the constitution required 80%+1votes for president, they would win. wonder why they want alliances with other opposition parties

    • Indeed we need this lady in the opposition permanently. She does offer clear and effective leadership in the opposition. We should consider creating a permanent post for her based on the balanced checks and balances she offers. I am very glad that we still have such optimistic people like Edith in Zambia. She is sure of victory come 11 August. That’s good Edith, may be I will also be the first black Zambian to rise to the throne of King Of Britain.

  6. You never did a single campaign under UDA, you went to sleep, watching from the terraces whether HH would make it – that wasn’t an alliance, HH pulled alone. So, stop talking about UDA.
Moreover, UPND has never talked about bringing fdd on it’s board, it’s all stuck in your head that they will come to you for an electoral pact, forget!!! You shall never win madam, just concentrate on bettering your man-snatching skills. You do that one with perfected art.

  7. When a woman attains menopause, she becomes highly emotional & irritable because of hormonal depletion. Zambia is not yet ready for any woman to be on top of man.

  11. You are still bitter over the so called UDA and yet you added no value in that so called alliance. Was there a single day you stood to campaign with and for HH in 2006 UDA alliance. UPND had over 40 MPs prior to 2006 elections while your FDD had less than 10 and yet you expected to appointed as alliance leader, how naïve can you be. I think you have a heart of a witch Mrs Hambulo Edith. Anyway nobody will vote for not even those villagers you were giving tuma farming inputs. Your greedness will take no where

  12. HH will never make it. Zambians are now wiser on who HH really is. A conniving, lying and egotistical leader who thinks in all of Zambia only he has the intelligence to rule this country. Once again God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and since HH is wiser than God for refusing to accept God’s choince of a leader in Lungu for now he can never be God’s choice for Zamboa. Zambians are certain if HH wins he will be the:
-worst dictator ever to rule this country.
-the worst tribalistic and nepotistic leader
-the worst leader in terms of skills because he seems to think ability to make money whether by crook or hook qualifies one to be a leader, not even a good one at that.
-HH does not want to be led therefore can not make a good leader
-HH is vindictive and cant wait to wage war on all his perceived enemies whom he thinks stood in his way to Plot one from the time he started trying.
-HH is hypocritical, whilst preaching love on valentine’s day his cadres had been directed by him to beat up people who went to attend Lungu’s rally. I haven’t heard HH condemn that violence so it means it had his blessing.

Zambians have judged him and weighed him and found him wanting. No amount of propaganda will help HH.
