Nakachinda refuses to apologize, chased out of Parley

Patriotic Front (PF) Central Member of Committee Raphael Nakacinda has refused to apologize to the speaker of National Assembly Nelly Mutti.

Nakachinda was reprimanded for telling the speaker to stop being emotional when presiding over business of the house.

Nakachinda, last year on several occasions when summoned before the disciplinary committee of the National Assembly proved to be untraceable and or did not show up before the committee.

In her ruling today, Mutti found that the acts by Nakachinda last year lowered the dignity of the National Assembly as his acts were derogatory and insultious.

“Mr Nakachinda the house is extremely displeased. You lowered the dignity of the house and also failed to appear before the committee. I urge you to reform and desist from such in future. I order you to apologise,” she said.

Mutti then asked him to proceed to read the letter of apology before him.

Nakachinda however, said that he will not apologise because the apology that he was being asked to render was not written by him.

“It will be a betrayal to my conscious if I read this apology which has not been written by me,” he said.

Mutti then asked Nakachinda to leave the house and that appropriate action will be taken against him by the National Assembly.
