Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Deputy Secretary General Patrick Mucheleka has claimed that Suspended party Vice President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba better known as GBM is under capture by the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

Speaking on the program dubbed Day Break on Prime TV Today, Mucheleka who is GBMs nephew claimed his uncle has been captured by external factors.

Mucheleka also denied that he betrayed GBM, arguing that it is actually his uncle who has been betraying him.

“Just to make sure listeners and viewers can understand properly, when I applied to be adopted on PF ticket in 2011, it’s my uncle GBM who blocked my adoption. That’s when I decided to run as independent. Afterwards when GBM resigned claiming he is standing in solidarity with Chitimukulu over installations issues, President Sata called me to State House and asked me to replace him as a member of the Bemba royal family,” Mucheleka explained.

And Mucheleka said unlike GBM, when given an opportunity, he couldn’t betray him.

“I refused to accept the Ministerial position from President Sata because I stood for a principle. I was in solidarity with my uncle GBM and His Royal Highness Chief Chitimukulu. But President Sata warned me that those people I am protecting are capable of stabbing me on my back and true to that word, their have betrayed me for real.”
