Mwila, go now or end up like Bashir – Zulu

The squabbles in the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) have continued, with the one faction fighting to oust Secretary General Davies Mwila while the other is solidly behind him.

PF staunch supporter Munir Zulu has weighed in and categorically asked Mwila to resign before he ends up like ousted Sudanese leader Omar al-Bashir.

Zulu, who in the past has boasted about being influential, is echoing calls earlier made by another PF cadre Julius Komaki.

“Komaki is doing the right thing unlike what the other group did. How do you just wake up and organise people to do a solidarity match for you to continue staying in office? The current SG is too quick to hire anyone to speak for him yet he has continued to dismantle the party,” Zulu said in a statement.

“Hon Davies Mwila the best advice I can offer you for free is step down before you become a person like Omar al Bashir, a good dancer knows when to leave the stage.”

Komaki has ignited a campaign to remove Mwila, accusing him of spreading hatred and dividing the party as well as incompetence.

Last week, Komaki gave Mwila a 48-hour ultimatum to resign or be removed forcibly but the party CEO ignored the call, accusing Komaki of being a hired gun.

Mwila’s faction has been backed by PF officials from Lusaka, Copperbelt and Eastern provinces. Recently a solidarity march past was conducted for Mwila by Kanyama Constituency PF members.

Komaki has written to police informing them of his intentions to also carry out march past to petition the party to remove Mwila.
