Mwansabombwe District Commissioner, Victor Kasuba, has expressed sadness at the latest reports of violence among political parties in the district.

Speaking to ZANIS in an interview, Kasuba, said it is quite unfortunate that despite the President’s continuous preaching about the importance of peace and holding of peaceful elections, some political parties have not heeded to that strong and important message.

The concern comes after cadres from the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) and Patriotic Front (PF) clashed in the district.

He said Zambia is a Christian Nation where political parties should learn to embrace one another and refrain from all forms of violence and portray the spirit of One Zambia One Nation as we they are one people.

Kasuba warned that as District Commissioner, he would not condone any form of violence and cautioned whoever will be found wanting that they would face the wrath of the law as there is no one above the decree.

He advised the parties to find a way to co-exist in the district and give fair and equal chances for all to campaign and hold rallies.

The DC urged party officials to also maintain their dignity, be loyal and peacefully support their political parties.

He has called on the police to be serious and apprehend all people causing confusion in the district.
