Mutati demands explanatio​n on mine bailout plan

MMD Lunte Member of Parliament, Felix Mutati has demanded for an explanation from government over its plans to bailout mining companies.

Mutati a former Commerce Minister in the MMD government said government should explain what form of support it will give to the mining firms that are reported facing operational challenges.

He said it should be made claer whether the support will be in form of tax incentives or cash support.

Mutati siad it will be unnecessary for government to support the mines through cash.

He added that tax incentives could be the appropriate but also noted thta this will not be accepted by Zambians as they still feel the mines are paying too iittle taxes.
