Murder suspect Kaputo put on defense

Murder accused Nshinka Kaputo has been found with a case to answer for allegedly shooting dead his girlfriend, Precious Mangesana and wounding his 3-year-old daughter Naila.

The court says evidence on record shows that Kaputo was found with a gun in his hand and a spare magazine during the shooting on October 5, 2017.

According to the submissions by the state, any reasonable tribunal would convict Kaputo with no reasonable doubt due to the evidence adduced.

However, his lawyers want the court to reduce the charge to manslaughter.

In this case, Kaputo, 36, allegedly shot dead Mangesana, a Multichoice employee and wounded his daughter Naila Kaputo.
